Shortly after I lost Jules, I was frogmarched down to Wizaland by Jo Large to see the two litters of puppies that Sue had. I had expressed an interest in looking at them shortly after they were born, but with all that had happened, the break-in and the loss of Jules, time had passed by. It was a terrible day, dark, cold, and very wet. It had been wet for a long time, actually it had been freezing for a long time and that day a thaw had set in, but it was still icy. The kennels were wet, very wet. The pups were wet, very wet. The entrance outside the kennels was like a paddling pool, with enough ice to make things that little bit treacherous.

The puppies were brought out one by one and dried and brushed and stood up. There was a dog and bitch in each litter that I liked. One litter was by Sh.Ch./Ir.Ch Wizaland Jonah Lumo out of Wizaland Trust in Love (Millie) and the other litter was by Borderfame Heart and Soul out of Wizaland Ebony Silouette. I decided to go home and think about it. I just couldn't get my head around choosing a puppy at that time.

A few weeks later I went down to the cottage again. This time the puppies were in the kitchen so I could see them properly. I watched whilst they played about and one particularly caught my eye. They were all stood up and I had a good look at them, and picked two - dog and bitch - both out of the Jonah litter. We took them outside so that I could see them moving properly and I eventually chose the bitch. I knew instinctively what her name was going to be - 'Kaos'. Very apt. My nerves are frazzled; my house looks like a bomb site (even more so). There's chewed up cardboard, newspaper, toilet roll inners, plastic bottles, etc. etc. all over the place. She's very much like her dad, never happier than when she's got something in her mouth, be it plastic bottles, my arm, bricks out of the wall (she's into demolition big style), a ball, any kind of toy, Tarot's neck. Tarot, my laid back, horizontal dog has found new energy - she's actually playing with Kaos, something she's not done for many years.

Sadly Tarot was put to sleep in September 2002.

27th April 2003.

It's been over 12 months since Kaos came to live at Jenwisp and what a baptism of fire I had. She has actually re-arranged most things that were capable of being re-arranged and some that were not. Toys and food are joint first on her list of priorities. Rarely sleeps, spends most of her waking hours playing. I made the terrible mistake of teaching her to come and put a toy in my hand, so now we have Kaos trying to put a rubber ring in my hand so she can tug on it, sometimes she has a ball in her mouth at the same time as the ring. If I won't play with her I have toys lined up across my chest. She plays football (David Beckham would be proud of her footwork) with another ball or ring in her mouth at the same time. We've re-discovered the squeaky toys which had been put away. I had to throw the big tuggy away because Willie ate it, so I suppose I've got to get her another.

We managed to do a few shows last year (what with her being in season twice in the show season). She qualified for Crufts (but didn't enter her) and she was rarely out of the first 3 places.

Hopefully, we should have some photographs of her very soon.

As soon as Kaos learns to type properly, she will be writing up her Chronicles. She is doing very well at the moment. She has learned to use the mouse and watch the screen. She has also learned to crash everything. So anything may happen. Watch this space!!!!!!
