Working Sheepdog5th November 1976 to 1991(Comtismom Ace-Phillrich Meg)Shortly before Sandy died, I was approached by Maurice Yates to ask if I would take on a Working Sheepdog bitch, which he had bred. At first I said 'no'. However, he asked me again, and after speaking with Ann was advised to have her, and in March 1979 Phillrich Jenny Wisp came to live with me. It was at this time that I first met Sue Large. Wisp belonged to Sue and was working A and B when I had her. Her set exercises were solid. She did have other problems with her work however, due to her over-exuberance. Together with Ann we set about training her. Hard work or what? However, progress was made and Wisp was soon entered for shows. Wisp won 3 B's, and a C with places in both, but never won the C (under 10 points then) that would qualify her for ticket. Wisp and I learned a lot together, I certainly learned a lot from her.I had one litter out of her (by my own dog, Shep) which produced 5 lovely puppies, 3 bitches and 2 dogs. Melody went to my friend, Lesley Knowles and eventually won through from Beginners to Ticket, Mirk went to another friend and he won his Beginners and Novices, before his owner gave up obedience. I kept Meg who also won her Novices. Sooty went to a pet home in Coventry and I kept the other dog, Moss. He was never worked. She was 15 years old when she died, followed a week later by Bob, the same age.My affix is derived from Wisp's name, Jenny Wisp.
