My Star! Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that I would own a Show Champion.

Wispa was born on my mother's birthday and is the best present that I have ever had. As I had lost Jess in January, Sue said I could have a puppy as a replacement, but would have to wait as there were others waiting for puppies and had prior choice. Wispa is a repeat of the mating that produced Ir.Ch/Sh.Ch Wizaland Jonah Lumo and Sue wanted another dog for herself. However that was not to be as Lara produced four bitches.

She started her show career off very well by winning Minor Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy Bitch at North West Border Collie Club Championship Show and then went on to take Best Puppy in Show. She has won many Best Puppy in breed and also took a Puppy Working Group and Reserve Best Puppy in Show. First time in Junior and she took Best of Breed and came 4th in the Working Group. Up amongst the big boys now.

In 1999 she took two Reserve CC's (judges: Tony Armstrong and Joe Kirk) and some very good wins and places. However, it was in 2000 that the dream became a reality. Wispa became a Show Champion.

Her first C.C and B.O.B at W & PBA of Wales under Steve Richardson, her second under Mrs. Jo Bispham at Border Union and finally her crowning C.C and B.O.B under Christina Bailey at the Welsh Kennel Club.

She also won a Reserve CC under Sheila Gay at West of England Championship Show in November 2004, winning Veteran Bitch on the way. She challenged for Reserve Best in Show and Best Veteran in Show, but was not successful.

For 2 years running she has won the Border Collie Veteran of the Year (7-9 years old) 2003 and 2004.

Thank you to all the judges who have thought so highly of Wispa! Thank you to Sue for letting me have her and for handling her to her title and to Eric Broadhurst who also handled her. Dave Kinton has taken over the handling of Wispa now and he's having some success with her and ejnoys handling her. He says she's so easy! Thank you Dave. She has also been handled by Jo Large, with much success. Thanks Jo.

Not the easiest of dogs to live with, she is very independent, self-willed, will not tolerate bullying or being told off. On the other hand, she used to bully Denva, who would dive for cover when she came home after a show and covered his head with his paws. She tried to get Jules to leave home by driving him out of the park or burying him in the mud. On the good side, she is (or can be) a very affectionate bitch and loves a cuddle.
