      Christmas Message

Hi everybody, December 2001

Some kind of decoration I think. It doesnt seem like a year has gone by since last Christmas, when I was waiting for Santa Paws to come with my pressies. Now its here again.

Lots of things have happened this year - the terrible thing that happened in America when lots of dogs and other animals lost their owners. I do not really understand all that happened or why, but I felt so sorry for everyone. Then there was the foot and mouth epidemic here when a lot of collies and their employers lost their jobs because of all the sheep, cattle and pigs that had to be destroyed.

Dog and other shows were cancelled or postponed because of the foot and mouth disease. Crufts was postponed and held later in the year. Mum went to that with Wispa. I really do like it when Mum goes to shows, because, although she leaves us behind, she always brings us something nice back as a special treat.

In April Mum gave up work. This is great because it gives her more time for us. More walks, more fun and games and more freedom. When it isn't raining, we are out in the yard most of the day. As usual I have been in trouble for most of the year. Y'know, the sort of thing a dog always gets up to, stealing and the like. I suppose you will have gathered that from my Journal.

Bow woh woofA couple of months ago, Mum came home from shopping and I went to check what she had bought. She had bought some cream cakes and had sat down with one of them and a cup of coffee. I thought she must have forgotten to give me mine, so I helped myself. All that I left was the paper bag it was in. Oops. Mistake. Another time she bought a Lemon and Polenta cake. She ate most of that and just left one slice. I thought it looked nice so I had that!!! Then there was the BTGOF butter. I had the free one!! Well, I thought I had but Mum discovered me and took it away. Spoil sport. A few days ago, when Mum was putting our food in our bowls, I got so excited and jumped up and fell back into the water bowl and water went everywhere, the carpet was flooded. The Christmas cards fell off the freezer and got a bit damp. Mum hadn't even written them yet. Not a happy person.

Im hoping to get a new Journal for Christmas so I can start with a clean sheet next year. I have asked Santa Paws for one anyway.

It's very cold now. We all live in the house, but it's usually cold because Mum always has the back door open for us to go in and out. Can't wait for the snow so that I can go skiing with the Swedish thing down the yard. Crikey, what a noise she makes when she sees snow. I wondered what had happened last year.

Mum is hovering so I must finish off now. I wish everybody the bestest ever Christmas and New Year. I hope you all get goodies from Santa Paws in your Christmas Stockings and lots of cuddles too.

Cheerio and I look forward to starting my new Journal next year. See ya.
